A large risk management and compliance company with 10 offices throughout Australia and New Zealand are seeking to appoint an Asbestos Consultant / Lead Surveyor to join their Property Risk team based in Auckland, New Zealand. The ideal Candidate with hold a minimum of six years’ overall experience and BOHS P402, P403, P404 and – preferably – P405 although consideration will be given to those with less.

This role will see you responsible for project and account management while also conducting asbestos/hazardous materials surveys and air monitoring/clearance inspections associated with asbestos remediation works. Reporting to the Property Risk Team Manager and supported by a team of high performing experts your specific responsibilities will include:

Conducting asbestos and hazardous materials management surveys.
Conducting destructive pre-demolition asbestos surveys.
Developing and maintaining asbestos registers and management plans, and recommending asbestos risk mitigation and management strategies.
Conducting site supervision, air monitoring and clearance inspections associated with friable and non-friable asbestos remediation programs.
Monitoring assigned projects to ensure they meet defined project objectives and regularly communicating with key stakeholders.
Acting as a subject matter expert and providing advice internally and externally.
Providing appropriate and relevant information to Business Unit Managers who are responsible for completing the report.
Contributing to the regions pipeline of business opportunities that will ensure revenue targets are achieved.
As the standout candidate you will have extensive experience as an asbestos/hazardous materials consultant. You will possess proven asbestos/hazardous materials management experience along with an understanding of WH&S, consulting and risk management. The ability to develop, maintain and strengthen business partnerships as well as work cooperatively and collaboratively with others to achieve collective goals is essential in your success. You have strong project management and account management experience along with excellent commercial acumen and effective time management skills. Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Building and Construction, Work Health and Safety or similar, together with extensive experience within the industry will be highly regarded.
